Senior A is a fundamental year when students start to come in full contact with the language as a whole dedicating equal time to all the skills (reading, writing, speaking, listening).
From Senior B Class onwards, all levels are taught by two teachers. The main teacher, who sees students 3 out of the 4 hours, usually teaches reading, vocabulary and grammar while the second teacher focuses on the productive skills, speaking and writing as well as listening. In this way students have the opportunity to work with teachers with different styles and backgrounds and there is a pleasant and beneficial change from one teacher to another.
These levels are extremely important for the future success of students in the exams of B2/C1/C2 levels. With the proper methodology in these years, success comes effortlessly and is guaranteed. Our school offers the opportunity to excellent students to attend an intensive summer course of either B or E class or go to D+ class where the material of both D+E class is covered in one school year. In this way they can proceed to the higher levels faster, if their language skills allow it.
Assessment / Exams
Students of all our classes sit exams twice a year (midterm/final) in the middle and end of the academic year. The purpose of these exams is to assess the progress of each student and to act with remedial lessons where necessary.
The first national exam that we encourage our students to participate in is the ESB B1 exam in preparation for the B2 Lower exams of the following year.
At the end of each term parents meet with teachers to receive a report which has the form of a graph and depicts written performance, oral performance and overall effort.
