After graduating from Pierce College, Jeannie continued her studies in the UK and later on worked at the Embassy of China in Athens, even though she claims that her Chinese still needs work. She has travelled from Alaska to Tibet, in her free time she loves to read and take care of her garden where she practises permaculture, and also saves strays from all corners of Greece. She shares her great experiences with her students and tries to inspire them and raise their awareness on matters that are important to her such as the environment and human rights. 

She has great experience in teaching young as well as older students but also in preparing students for diplomas such as Proficiency, IELTS and entry exams for Pierce College/Athens College.

Born and raised in Edmonton, Canada, after finishing her studies, she joined the Canadian army where she gained her brilliant organizational skills. She then left for Taiwan where she taught for a few years, but luckily for us the Greek sun won her over.

She has been teaching at our school for almost two decades, she is the director of English studies and works closely with Jeannie and the rest of the English department. Most of us in Faliro first met her at the local kindergartens where she taught and some of us visit her in the summer on the island of Ios where she is more than happy to show us round. Her students either young or older, love her and are her loyal followers. She herself loves to work out, loves the sea and of course her adopted island of Ios.

French Department

Madame Georgette was born in Belgium from Greek parents and after completing her studies returned to Greece.

A teacher with great experience in teaching both young and older students, she has a unique way of making them love French, largely because of her sense of humour. She has been involved in promoting the French language and culture in Greece, especially at our school where she continues to successfully lead our French department for years now. She is extremely caring and patient and knows how to instill the love of French in all her students.

Orestis joined our team in 2021 and was quickly loved by his students for his efficiency and humor.

Even though his original studies were in Finance, he quickly realized his love of teaching and he decided to change course and we are extremely lucky that he did! He completed his studies in foreign languages at LSI and Cambridge in the UK.

He has a great love for animals. loves playing chess and claims to be the brother of his beloved chow chow dog, Ballou.

Dimitris

Dimitris

German Department

Born in Meligou in the area of Arcadia, Dimitris left for Berlin after finishing school, where he studied German, and speaks the language as a native speaker. After completing his masters in management of cultural studies he returned to Greece where he started teaching. A greatly loved teacher with many years of experience, who always makes his lessons fun adding his knowledge, his numerous experiences and his humor. His students learn to love the language as well as the German culture. He loves the cinema, poetry and the Cycladic islands.

She was born and completed her university studies in Athens. Ms Joanna started teaching after returning to Greece from California, USA. She has taught in private schools as well as in foreign language institutes in Athens and Patras. Her great experience and admirable patience bring success to her students in the exams for European and American certificates. Her thoughtfulness and love of teaching are what make her stand out, she has a love for martial arts especially boxing- thankfully something she has not had to put in use with her students!

Ms.Aspa is one of our most beloved teachers who shares her love of English with all her students and brightens up our school with her smile. Her main experience and expertise is in students with learning disabilities. She has taught in foreign language schools in Germany and is qualified with the CELTA certificate from the British council. She has a love for animals and owns a cat, she loves baking and cooking- we hope we don’t lose her to Masterchef!

Isavella attended our school as a student and 15years later returned to help us with the day to day running of the school, its organization but also to support and help our teachers.

A graduate in marketing, advertising and communication studies, she is a vital part of our admin team and works hard to ensure that our lessons run smoothly. She loves art and currently has her hands full raising her beautiful little daughter.

She was raised in Kenya and has deep connections to our school since her father was a student of ours many decades ago!

Her experience is in management positions and her politeness and smile help her accomplish any challenge, as she does at our admin department. She speaks 4 languages- you’ ll often hear her speak in fluent French with madame Georgette, and fluent English with the rest of the teachers. A graduate of Thames Valley University of West London in Psychology, she is a mum of a sweet girl and has a passion for cycling. You might bump into her on Dionissiou Aeropagitou street on her bike showing tourists around Athens.

Silvia was born and raised in South Italy and she always loved travelling and learning new languages.

She spent one year of high school in Germany, then went on to study Anthropology, first in London and then in Madrid. She has lived in Greece for 4 years, taking part in different projects in the social sector and gaining experience teaching adults and children from different backgrounds, before getting a CELTA certificate. She enjoys reading, bouldering, the sea, and, of course, a good cup of coffee!

Ms. Bookie may be a retired teacher, however she is by our side on a daily basis encouraging and advising us with her lifetime knowledge of all aspects of education.

An absolute “spot on” critic for θα δώσει πάντα το τελικό πράσσινο φως για όλες τις προσθήκες της ομάδας μας. Επίσης δεν ξεχνάει ποτέ τους παλιούς της μαθητές, οι οποίοι χαίρονται να την συναντούν όταν φέρνουν πλέον τα δικά τους παιδιά!

Lara

Also known as the iron lady and dedicated companion of Ms. Bookie, she was adopted from the dog shelter of Paleo Faliro in 2010.

Zazi

Zazi

Zazi was the third black cat that our school adopted. She enjoyed sleeping on the armchairs and sofa, she frequented the Christmas manger during the holidays, and she especially liked it when students brought her snacks. She passed away in March 2024 and is sorely missed.

Lexi

Lexi

Lexi was rescued by Jeannie in the mountains of Nafpaktia. She loves running in the mountains and forests and complains when she’s not in nature – basically every day since she’s in the city. She's a frequent sight on the sofa in Jeannie's office.

Maurice

Maurice

Our most recent family member, who was found wounded by Lexi on a steep hill in the countryside and was rescued by Jeannie. He managed to overcome his multiple wounds and is now grateful for his new beginning in life and his new home full of love.
